ONLY English!
In the last week of the first term our students took part in an English project week organised by the non-profit organisation ABC (Austrian Bilingual Classroom), which
aims to promote the English language in Austrian schools. Ten native speaking language trainers from various English-speaking countries like England, Scotland,
Canada, Australia, USA etc. worked through an intense 5-day-programme which included two different workshops on the topics “Holiday, Travel, Culture” and “Heath,
Fashion, Fitness” with our children. Throughout the entire project week all the students were required to speak English only and the use of games, songs, sketches
and rhymes created a very relaxed atmosphere and kept the children motivated at all times. On the last day of the project the students had the chance to perform their
sketches and songs to a large audience which included teachers, parents and other scholars. The action-packed week and the performance on the last day were a great
success and tremendous fun for all the participants. Above all, the unconventional use of the English language increased the student’s confidence in speaking.
